This is a small South American instrument of the guitar family, having ten strings and with the bowl made in the traditional way from an armadillo. You can find lots of information including tuning, playing etc here.. The strings have some life left in them, but a new set would be advisable if you wanted to play in a serious way. It has several scuffs and scratches from wear and use. It is 19¾ inches long. There is a hard case with it which does not fit it exactly but does the job.
