A washboard made in Germany with rippled metal ribs in a slight bow fronted arrangement, and a metal top panel (a bit rattly). I'm not sure what the metal is, but at the back where it has obviously not had the same use as the front, it is quite shiny and presumably the front would polish up again too. There are two bracing struts at the back and the whole thing feels strongly made. One of the back pegs is missing and one foot is worn down from use. There are a few holes from long-dead woodworm. The words on the paper label on the top panel, when translated, do not tell you much. 12¾" (main body width) x 22" (including legs of 3½")
