This is a larger and heavier than normal washboard. Last time I had one of these I was told it dated back to 1900. It consists of a wooden frame covered with (probably) zinc, which wraps around the sides and bottom edge of the main board, and is secured by tacks. The wooden frame is strongly made, there are some abrasions to the back and the legs where it has rested against year upon year of washtubs. There are also splits in the legs, which do not affect the stability of the board. Please note dimensions: 15" (main body width) x 28" (including legs of 7")
